Young Progressive Party (YPP) presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu, has reacted to the emergence of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, as the PDP flag bearer for the 2019 presidential elections.

Moghalu, in a statement he signed on Tuesday, declared that neither Atiku nor President Muhammadu Buhari can fix Nigeria.

He said this was because the country needs a generational shift in order for new visions and new ideas to be birthed.

Moghalu said: “The birth of a new nation will not come about if we continue to elect the same old recycled politicians who have juggled power between themselves and held the progress of this country captive for so long.

“Nigeria needs a new visionary leader who has the capacity, character and competence to wage a decisive war against poverty, heal Nigeria of its wounds and build a real nation and restore Nigeria’s standing in the world.

“Neither the failing APC nor the previously failed PDP can provide this level of leadership for our people.

“It is time for Nigerians to be brave, rise up and vote for a prosperous future for themselves and their children come 2019.

“The 2019 presidential election is about the known past versus the possibility of a better future.

“The youths of today are the future and they must realize the power they possess in deciding our future.”
