The former Kwara State governor, who recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has already purchased the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms few days after his public declaration in Abuja last week.

Inside sources said since his defection, which many associates described as a homecoming, Saraki has been consolidating on his strength to secure the ticket by renewing friendships in and outside the political circle.

However, the APC has claimed that the senate president lacks the capacity to administer the country.

In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Yekini Nabena, the party alleged that Saraki was an “abysmal failure and is totally incompetent to offer himself as a candidate for the leadership of Nigeria.”
