Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney has unveiled his “best ever” world footballer.
According to Spanish newspaper, AS, Rooney’s best ever footballer in the world is Argentina and Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi.
Rooney, who played against Messi in the Champions League during his time at Old Trafford, believes the Barca No. 10 has “a bit of everything”.
He, however, said that Messi can score goals even when he is playing deep in the midfield.
“Messi has a bit of everything. Ronaldo has gone from being a winger to a forward. He is more of a one-touch, two-touch to goal forward, but Messi has a bit of everything,” Rooney said.
Rooney added, “right now, I am here and I am walking on the pitch, but he continues to score goals from deep positions. Therefore, he is the best.”
Messi has scored a total of 11 goals in 11 games playing behind the striker in a more deeper role for Barcelona this season.
