The National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, has approved the upgrading of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora to a polytechnic.

Provost of the institution, Professor Gbemiga Adewale, who announced the approval, said the institution would now run six additional programmes in addition to the existing ones.

Adewale, in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday through the institution’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs Opeyemi Olawore in Ibadan, the state capital, commended the NBTE for the approval.

Adewale said, “Following the approval, the institution can now run National Diploma programmes in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, Horticultural Technology as well as Office Technology and Management”.

He revealed that the new status would further bring infrastructural and human capital development to the college through accesses to TETFUND for staff training and infrastructural facilities.
